A few weeks ago, the 7th annual Censis Technologies Users Conference (CtUC) took place in Nashville, TN.

This year, we were thrilled to increase the number of customers leading general and breakout sessions to give attendees even more opportunities to learn and hear directly from their peers. We also introduced a conference app for the first time to give attendees an easy way to share the insights they were learning, connect with other attendees, and build their own schedule for the conference.

With new events, a record number of attendees and sponsors, and an increased amount of breakout and general sessions, it was arguably our best CtUC yet! Today, the Client Services team looks back at a few other moments that made #CtUC2017 such a hit.

1. Inspirational Keynote Presentation. This year, we invited Colonel Mark Tillman to CtUC to kick off the conference on Monday morning. Through his energetic storytelling, he shared about his time serving President George W. Bush as the 12th Presidential Pilot and Air Force One Commander. His presentation inspired attendees to consider how they can create an atmosphere and expectation of Zero Fail Mission in their own facilities.

2. Live Interactive Art. To help make this year’s event even more interactive, we invited critically acclaimed Nashville artist Omari Booker to join us and create a custom piece of art for the conference! On Monday, the painting, featuring the Nashville skyline, was set up in the exhibit hall where attendees could write their phrase of inspiration from Col. Tillman’s presentation on the piece. On Tuesday, Omari returned to CtUC and worked all day to combine the Nashville skyline and attendees’ words into a new piece showcasing the importance of CSSDs and ORs working together.
3. The Solution Center. Each year at the Solution Center has gotten busier and this year was no exception! At the Solution Center, attendees were able to make appointments to meet with their Client Manager to review account plans, ask questions, and get live training on the information they were learning about in the conference sessions.
4. Monday Night Event. For our special Monday night event, we rented out the entire General Jackson Showboat to give everyone plenty of room on the boat to relax, enjoy dinner, participate in some line dancing, and listen to live music, all while floating down the Cumberland to catch the best views of Nashville.
5. General and Breakout Sessions. As mentioned previously, we were able to invite even more of our customer base to come and share their expertise at the conference this year. Through sessions like Competency Module Utilization, The Value of Patient Level Tracking, and Training Best Practices, attendees had the chance to hear directly from their peers on how other facilities are utilizing and optimizing their use of Censis solutions.
6. Scavenger Hunt Competition. During lunch on Tuesday, a new event was introduced to CtUC—the scavenger hunt! To participate in the hunt, attendees formed groups to follow clues around the Gaylord Resort in search of items to fill backpacks for kids from Youth Villages Nashville. Not only did this event allow people to connect with other conference attendees, but it also brought camaraderie to the entire group by encouraging a little friendly competition!

7. CtUC 2017 Awards. The conference closed out with one of our favorite events—the CtUC 2017 awards. We love handing out these awards to recognize facilities in our client base that are achieving extraordinary results through their use of Censis solutions. Our Kevin Bevill award is especially meaningful because it is named after a valuable Censis employee who lost his life due to a heart attack. Kevin was an individual who worked hard and never saw anything as impossible when it came to providing the best solutions and service for all Censis clients. His motto around the office was always, “We can do this!” and we’re honored every year to hand out these awards in honor of him.

2017 winners:
Kevin Bevill Award for Large Facility/System: Carolina Health System
Kevin Bevill Award for Small Facility/System: VCU Medical Center
Censis Partner Award: LeeSar

During our awards ceremony, we also announced the winners of the app contest, scavenger hunt winners, and the sponsor raffle winner!
